Bowling Guys Visits Master Industries
A few months ago I emailed Cathy Kay of Master Industries to introduce myself. Over an email, I explained that I am a USBC Silver Certified Coach and that I want to grow my networking relationships with industry leading bowling companies. She offered for me to come visit and tour Master Industries and even offered me a goodie bag of top shelf items manufactured right here in the USA all over an email. In my research of the company I found that Master Industries is based right here in Southern California, in Santa Ana to be exact, so I decided to take her up on her offer to visit the facility. I am so glad I did.
I had no idea that Cathy would be one of the most genuine and good-hearted persons’ I have ever met. She shared many stories regarding the company while taking me on a tour of the facility, one which included hanging with Jason Belmonte at Bowl Expo. She expressed how proud she is of her team day in and day out and how much she truly loves what she does every day at Master Industries. The company only has 15 employees and in Cathy’s words; “We are much smaller than you would expect”.
In recent years, Master Industries was purchased by Storm Products which is now their parent company. While on the tour of the facility I was able to see where Bill Chrisman – CEO of Storm Products would sit when he comes to visit along with all of the the throwback posters and memorabilia from bowling’s past time. I was able to see how the famous Puff Ball is created along with the dedicated tables for outgoing orders to bowling product distribution companies and pro shops. I also was able to see how all of the Master craftsmen showcased their talents in creating some of the best products on the market. One of Master Industries products that you may not know about is the Surface Master Ball Maintenance system. I highly recommend you check that one out.
It was a pleasure and an honor becoming friends with Master Industries. I learned so much by visiting and I am very happy to be able to share my experience with you. Master Industries is now celebrating their 50th anniversary (1967-2017). Cathy is open to showing you Master Industries, time permitting of course, and giving you a brief tour.
